Skin Tags-Removal and Treatment

A skin tag, known as an acrochordon, is a small tag of skin that looks like a small piece of soft hanging skin.

Invariably, Skin tags are benign lesions of the skin which do not cause any symptoms, unless they are repeatedly rubbed or scratched, as it may happen with clothes, jewellery, or while shaving.

Facts & causes of Skin Tags:
1 . Skin tags tend to occur on the eyelids, neck, armpits, groyne folds, and under breasts.
2. Obesity is associated with skin tags.
3. Removing a skin tag does not cause more to grow.
4. Middle-aged, obese adults are most prone to skin tags.
5. Almost everyone will develop a skin tag at some point in their life.

At COSMOSURE we offer the following procedures to remove skin tags:

NOTE: Skin tags can be excised by dermatologists or similarly trained medical professionals.
Cauterisation – the skin tag is burned off using electrolysis (using heat to remove them)
Ligation – the blood supply to the skin tag is interrupted
Excision – the skin tag is removed with a scalpel (it is cut out).
